Kayla & Kiara’s Story

On the 28th of February 2013 my little twin girls were born 10 weeks prematurely weighing 2lbs 12oz and 3lbs 4oz.

We had to be taken to Princess Royal Hospital Glasgow by ambulance on sirens from Dumfries as the hospital in there didn’t have the proper equipment for my twinnies arrivals. One twin was born naturally and the 2nd twin was born by cesarean, both were taken away to be put into incubation with oxygen, feeding tubes, heart monitors, etc.

“We had to be taken to Princess Royal Hospital Glasgow by ambulance on sirens from Dumfries as the hospital in there didn’t have the proper equipment for my twinnies arrivals.”

In Glasgow we spent 5 days on the neonatal ward before being transferred back to Dumfries, we spent 2 months in the neonatal ward at Cresswell Maternity Hospital in Dumfries before I could finally get my little miracles home.

Now they are 4 and a half years old happy & healthy, living life to the fullest, enjoying nursery and getting ready for big school next year. They also have a little brother now who is 3 years old, all of them my beautiful happy children.
